Our Mission:
Develop, implement, and test a process that will allow tracing a livestock animal through multiple livestock industry segments, across state and national borders, to its herd of origin within 48 hours in an efficient and cost effective manner.

   *** UPDATED JULY 2, 2007 ***
With the beginning of 2007, the Northwest Pilot Project (NWPP) entered its final phase. As of December 31, 2006, the temporary database of the NWPP was closed to additional data entry by participants to allow for analysis of final results and tabulation of project statistics. Final reports on the findings of the project are currently under development to again emphasize to USDA the issues that are important to the Northwest as the National Animal Identification System (NAIS) is further developed and implemented.

Please note that the NWPP website (www.northwestpilot.org) officially closed July 1, 2007. Project participants are no longer able to access their uploaded entries.

In the documents section below, you will find a copy of the NWPP’s final newsletter.

As the NWPP concludes during the spring of 2007, please contact the Idaho Cattle Association (ICA) office in Boise if you have questions, comments, or need additional information. The ICA can be reached at (208) 343-1615 or info@idahocattle.org. Their website is www.idahocattle.org.
